Currently the electricity service is managing by Utilities.
The electrification project was reshuffled in the year 1990. The hardest part
of the project, a rehabilitation of the distribution cable network works were
carried out by the local community. Till today it owned and operated by them,
the services have been developing from time to time. Today the power house is
fully equipped with the cutting-edge technology and it is providing 24 hours
services at very marginal price. The project has become a very successful both
in terms of financially and economically. It has shared a great input to other
development activities of the island.
